If you ever dreamed of being a Jeep driving, monocle wearing velociraptor killing countless non-monocle wearing velociraptors on a tropical island using your Jeep with an attached spiked ball, your time has finally come.

Made by the seven men strong Flashbang Studios, it’s a browser based 3D game running on the Unity plugin which unlike Flash you can apparantly make good games with.

You are set loose on a tropical island with five minutes of playtime, and your aim is to get an as high as possible highscore. This can be attained by performing stunts, damaging your Jeep, collecting orbs and ofcourse killing your fellow raptors.

Killing them can be done in different ways. You can just drive straight into them, or press space to attach a spiked ball to your Jeep and try to slay them with that, something they obviously took from Carmageddon. A nice feature is the slow-motion mode it goes into when you kill (or perform stunts for that matter), so you can watch the lifeless corpse of raptors flailing in the air attached to the spikes.

For extra points you spike the corpses and deposit them at exporters which teleport them to the future.

The driving is really well done and it’s a joy to perform stunts. For a web-based game the graphics are pretty good and the ragdoll physics of flying victims is pretty great, certainly in combination with the slow-motion camera.

All that, and the fact that you wear a monocle, a much underused item in today’s games, makes it a great little game.
