Stranded II is an open-ended game where you are, as the name implies, stranded on an island. It features a storymode, an open-ended mode, random islands and even an island editor.

Without anything in your possession, your only goal is to survive each day and try to become more proficient in every skill. Go hunting or fishing for food, chop wood to build shelter, construct your own tools, construct vehicles, tame wild animals, anything to survive another day.

As you do certain things more, the more your skill will rise in that area, and the more you’ll be able to do or build. It’s quite fun, but the grinding gets a little old after a while, right-clicking your mouse for the millionth time just to get that stupid little hut finished. The animation isn’t really all that, but the graphics are overall pretty good.

The fun lies mostly in the urge to see what combinations of stuff you can use to build other stuff, and to see what you can build next. And offcourse to kill all the animals because they seem to just slide everywhere (see animation).

Just check it out for yourself, you’ll either love or hate it.
